I’m more and more grateful to feel stuck in Matthew 13.

For many reasons, but a really surprising one today:

Jesus says understanding the Parable of the Sower is the key to understanding all the parables.

Proof: (Jesus) said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?” Mark 4:13

So, there is something big here. The ever-familiar parable isn’t just a catchy story about a farmer and some seeds and soil. 

It’s not just a felt board scene that you or your son or daughter played with in Sunday School. Well, it is that I suppose.

But it’s more.

The Word of God is deep. And O may it land on deep soil!
