Jackhammers
I’m sitting here having my faith rocked by noise.
Both kiddos are sleeping (I’m a mother and nanny), and the outside steps of the house we’re living in are being torn up. It’s incredibly loud. I’m sure they are going to accidently pound through our wall. Good thing we have plenty of coffee and some scones. I’m ready to be hospitable to our unexpected guests. I just hope they don’t get dirt on our carpet.
I’m trying to laugh.
Why?
Because that’s what wise, God-fearing women do:
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. Proverbs 31:25
I’m not quite there yet, but I’m close; I think I actually just smirked when they stopped and started again (being even louder than before).
And by some miracle of the living God the babes still sleep…
